Staycity Greenwich

If you’re not looking for a fully-fledged apartment but want somewhere to stay that is like a hotel room but with with its own kitchen area, Staycity’s Greenwich Aparthotel may be the answer.

It doesn’t have all the facilities of a typical hotel – the lobby area only has a couple of vending machines and there’s no restaurant or cafe on site, although it can arrange breakfast room service deliveries from the cafe opposite – but it’s very clean and functional, with neutral, simple decor.

There are 68 rooms, and a typical one is a palette of black, white and greys, like a typical studio, single or double hotel room with a bathroom, table and chairs, flatscreen tv, wifi, and the addition of a small kitchen area with a hob, fridge, microwave and toaster. There’s an on-site guest laundry, and secure underground parking available too (£10 per day).

However, there’s so many good eateries nearby, chances are you won’t be using it much. On Staycity’s doorstep is a Turkish restaurant, Zeytin, Kitcho, serving Japanese, and what has been voted one of the best fish and chip shops in London, The Golden Chippy.

It’s a short walk to Greenwich town centre. The Maritime Museum is just 1.3km distant, the Royal Observatory 2.1km, the 02 Arena 4.2km, Canary Wharf 4.5km, the Excel Exhibition and Convention Centre 6.7km. Trains and the DLR underground are a short walk too.

Staycity has a sister 98-room Aparthotel a five-minute walk around the corner at Deptford Broadway, which has a small gym for the use of guests of the two properties.
